Stubby radio antenna

I found some old threads that mentioned Billet Stubbies (18"), and a lot of posts that mentioned cutting the stock antenna. I was hoping to find a short (2" - 8") rubber antenna. The shorter the better. Anybody have any ideas.

Thanks

The response from you guys is great. Thanks. I spent 20 - 30 minutes searching the net after viewing some of the older threads. By clicking through some of the google links that appeared with your response, I found exactly what I was looking for. This forum and the members are the best.

yeah, there should be all kind of billet stubbies on ebay. I bought a 15" one about 7 years ago for my old Ford truck, and now I still have it on my current truck.

You can also go to your local auto parts store and they're likely to have them. I don't quite remember what size I got but I believe I bought my rubber one at Napa.

I got a 12" and 18" rubber antenna for my F150 at Autozone. About the same price as Ebay also minus shipping of course.

Does it make any noise, or is it quiet when doing 75-80?

I haven't noticed any extra noise on the highway at those speeds.

nice black one at Advance Auto Parts $10., with a curl in the middle like a police cruiser 2-way radio...use some silicone grease on the adaptor or it will oxidize in the fender...you can see it in the photo sorta.
