ING direct banking...who uses it

I am thinking of switching to ING bank.

Who here is already using them, and are you happy with their service.

I've been using them for about 4 years now...very happy with the service. Their rates are generally higher than any you will find locally. Sometimes however...there are slightly better rates available elsewhere. I have a CD with them maturing tomorrow...I requested that it be put in my regular account with them. That account currently pays a higher rate that their 9 month CD. Interestingly enough...I just now got an email from them!!!

Make sure it's an e-mail from them and not from a phisher......

Most banks don't send e-mails to their members.....Usually you can go to their main site and do your regular logon and get e-mails from them that way....(usually posted as messages).....

I'd avoid s--t showing up in my regular e-mail like the plague.....

No...they send emails on a regular basis...notifying members of account status...statement availability...transfer confirmations...etc. I always access their website for my account info. They are afterall...an online bank.

I don't use them -- and I don't have anything against them, but I'll pass on something that I read.

They (and others) apparently maintain their good rates through minimum service. Customers of some online banks have been dropped/charged if they needed too much attention. ING was discussed in the article, but I don't recall if they were cited for this type of activity.

This isn't really a bad thing -- just something to be aware of.

Thumbs up

I have a mutual fund account with them. My loses have been a little less than what I have thru another bank. All and all experience has been good.
