Cleaning Rims

Does anyone have Mickey Thompson Classic II rims? If so what do you use to clean them? I have tried several different products but they dont seem to come out real shiny. Some have left like water spots. I have found this polish that works on aluminum mag and chrome rims. Its called Blue Magic I think it is and I got it from autozone. Will this work or is there a protective coating on these rims. Just need to find something to bring the shine back.

From what i've read they are just polished aluimuim, the blue magic works great but to save some time get a mothers power ball mini, it works good and makes it quick to detail your rims. all you need is a cordless drill

if they are bad start with some stuff called never dull, it's kinda like a cotton rag with the polish in it. that will take most of the dirt/grime off of them

then use your blue magic. and they will come out like new or better. according to the blue magic site it will leave a protective coating on the rims, so you do not need to do it as often. you don't need the mothers polish, just the ball

X2

Exactly how I clean mine. MT recommends polishing/protecting every 3rd wash. Mine were stained really bad a while back, I had let red clay mud sit on them for about 1 month. The acid in the dirt will stain the rims. Used the powerball and they look better than new.

I got the mini power ball I used it with the mothers power metal. Didnt seem to work that great. So you dont think there is a protective coating on these rims just polished aluminum. My dad seems to think there was a lite clear coat or something on them. I didnt think so but thats what he thought. I guess i will have to dig them out of the barn one day

No protective coating. Said so in my "care booklet" that was with the rims. Bare polished aluminum. U can tell b/c on coated aluminum the mothers rim wax will not turn black. Bare it will blacken up b/c it is removing oxidization.

if the powerball didn't touch them i would try some neverdull and put some elbow grease in to it, also try the powerball with the blue magic

I never got a care booklet with mine but it might be because I got mine on tires shipped to me in no box just a piece of cardboard on the face side shrink wrapped. The powerball helped a little. I just dont think the polish was strong enough. Might have to try some never dull too. I just put some of that Blue Magic on my snowmobile tunnel and it was bad and it shinned it up somewhat. Still looks dull but looks alot better.
