International V.S. Ford Built Diesels

I agree with solmafarms. We all have fords for one reason(there the best).I've got a 99 F350 7.3psd and I love it. Don't have to make many repairs just regular maintance. I'm going to run it until it won't run anymore and then and only then will I consider what deisel comes next, most likely another ford.

I actually think it will be a good motor, the international / ford relationship wasnt working unfortunatly, they kept tryiing to point fingers at each other and just werent getting anywhere. My only problem with this 6.7 is that its being built in Mexico.... Thats the only thing that worries me.
Although Ford isn't being bailed out I don't remember Mexico or any other country offering to help GM or Chrysler. And people wonder why our country is in the shape its in.

It wouldn't matter where a vehicle is made if the quality isn't good enough for someone to buy it.

The 2 biggest problems with any automotive parts or assembly, engine or what ever, Oh and this holds true with aircraft stuff as well.
Number one is engineering, engineers are good on computers, not at hands on like the old guys back in the 40's and 50's, and they forgot or the computer data base doesn't have the lessons learned back then. Yes there are some improvements since then, but in other areas there is a huge regression.
Number two, is who is putting it together and making the parts. If it is an underpaid person in some other country, that has a nasty boss, they are going to give a rip about what they do and the company doesn't care either cause once it is on the container ship its not comming back if it doesn't last, well yeah as scrap maybe. Same goes for here in usa, in the old days people went to bed at 8 pm to wake up for the stupid day shift that everyone has such a fasination for. Now people get to bed at maybe 12 midnight and fight an hour or so of traffic, going to work and comming back home. They are flat too beat to work and do a quality job.
I think these are reasons for the junk we all get stuck with now.
