I remember when I first got my driver's license, and gas went up to 54 cents a gallon!

No, you're close but no ceegar. Got mine in 1964, 48 years ago today. Gas was 17 cents a gallon. Where did all of the years go?

Let's see here...... Nov 1950 Is the time the earth stood still in Awe

I remember my Dad choosing Gas stations based upon 1/10th of a cent difference in price. Mom, would check out what stamps were given out or what kinda glasses came with a fill-up.

In a bunch of ways......... those were the good old days ...... snif....snif...

Yeah! And some guy washed the windows and checked the tire pressure. All while you sat in the car.

The only thing they don't do anymore is check your tire pressure, we still get the windshield washed on occasion.

and I think if I'm not mistaken, they won't even let you pump your own gas in NJ !

Got my license in 1973. Didn't have a job, but I had a car. dad bought me a 1963 Chevy II for $75! And it ran too! (Wish I had that car today, would be worth a small fortune, well, maybe a tiny fortune as it was the 4 door version, and not the coveted 2 door)
