I remember my Dad choosing Gas stations based upon 1/10th of a cent difference in price. Mom, would check out what stamps were given out or what kinda glasses came with a fill-up.

The only thing they don't do anymore is check your tire pressure, we still get the windshield washed on occasion.
Got my license in 1973. Didn't have a job, but I had a car. dad bought me a 1963 Chevy II for $75! And it ran too! (Wish I had that car today, would be worth a small fortune, well, maybe a tiny fortune as it was the 4 door version, and not the coveted 2 door)
