Coil connector

Getting ready to install the new plastic, "horseshoe-shaped" connecter on the coil. My question concerns the best method of connecting the pig-tails on the new connector to the leads from the old connecter. Should I solder and insulate with shrink tube, or just use a crimped butt connecter, or does it make any difference.

either or. Soldering and shrink tube is a better connection and will last longer but the crimping method is prolly fine. I still would shrink tube it though, adds a little more strength and a cleaner look.

i like solder and putting dielectic lube or anti sieze on connection then shrink tube that way it will not corrode.

For any wiring under the hood, you should solder and shrink wrap, no question. Especially the coil power because the resistance here matters.
