Best sounding diesel ever???

I LOVE DIESEL POWERED VEHICLES THOUGH!

I've noticed that too.
My '94 Turbo and my buddy's '01 PowerStroke have a hint of "burning paper towel" smell, it's wierd.
My 6.9L doesn't have that at all.
And my Cummins doesn't smell like any of them.

Got my 6.9 on dual exhaust with some cherry bombs on it. Sounds great at idle but get on it or rev it up and sounds much like a gasser.
And on the smell thing my 06 Jetta exhaust smells nothing like a diesel should...especially since ULSD came out. At least the old 6.9 smells right. And if you dont like the smell throw in some fryer oil. Makes a cooking smell but seems like it smells sweeter compared to the kitchen at the bar.

What did you all just say, gotta speak up so I can hear you over the crickets.
I think they are Detroit crickets from that 8V92 twin turbo which did know how to talk back in the day.
The reason Detroits sound good is because they were always wide open at the top of the RPM band if they were moving.
In a truck, slam your finger in the door when you get so you are mad enough to drive it.
Run the engine like you are trying to blow it up.
Otherwise they fall on their face.
The Dodge just plain.....LMAO

I keep it chained up with an old frieghter's anchor chain so it'll leave my Blue Ovals alone.

Don't mind Dave. I imagine those Cummins probably do stink when they are always out in front of him

Loves me a CAT! The 32 series with a turned up pump has a heck of a lope at idle that reminds me of a bulldog waiting at the end of a tight lead waiting to be turned loose to a bayed up hog!
In smaller truck motors, the older dodge cummins (at least the older ones) have the most big truck motor sound to them.
