well my problem is im trying to raise a vehicle thats probably close or over 4000 lbs with an engine hoist but since its been parked so long its kinda.. umm.. sunk into the ground... so it makes it a little had to get under it... ntm get a jack under the axel when the axels literally sitting on the ground...

I can see where that would be a little bit of a problem. Could you lift one wheel at a time with the scissor jack for changing tires? It my resolve your clearance problem, but would be a little time consuming raising every wheel.

i could do it with the engine hoist if itd just stop raining and let the ground dry up a little... what i need to do is get it up high enough to either put boards under it or blocks.. (one or the other...) thing doesnt run.. but i have some things under there i need to take out so we can put them on the other chassis we have...

79 3/4 ton surburban... full steel frame and body... Weve got an 85 surburban we bought at auction that were slowly taking the 79's good and better parts and swapping to the 85... but think dads gonna keep the 85's tranny since its an OD unit.. but what i need to get off atm is the trailer hitch (which i plan to weld back onto the 85 frame while the bodys off of it atm) and transfer the tank from the 79 to the 85 as well... our 79 has a 40 gallon tank on it.. the one on the 85's a 25 gal tank...

Thanks... its a very slow project cuz dad wont really let anyone help him with it less he has to... problem is gonna be getting the body back on the frame really... but right now.. hes gotta finish working on the frame.. ntm fixing some problems that whoever had it last caused... like for example.. one of the rear shocks was apparently loose for quite a while and rounded out the hole it mounted to.. so we gotta fix that...

this one wasnt a last user caused.. but when trying to take the body off the frame one of the nuts came loose.. and the nuts are inside between 2 sheets of metal so we gotta figure out a way to get in there to get the bolt outta the nut but thats later down the road..
