All kidding from lastnight aside....I can't use salt here. I did one time and it burned Sas's feet horribly. I washed em for 2 hrs before she'd walk on 'em again. Her crying made me feel like jumping in front of a train.
We started out 2hrs late..but in come the freezing crap. Most of about 5 co.'s worth of schools now shut down.
I use a pet safe chemical...more expensive...but well worth it!!!
There is a product some place called Saf-Salt(I think) that is supposed to be mutt friendly. I can't find it here anyplace. Even the Vet can't tell me. It's all Halite, or some calcium chloride derivative.....all hurt Poop-Dogs(grand daughters nick name for Sas) feet.
I think my only choice is cat litter.
I use some stuff at home, that is supposed to be safe for dogs, but I can't remember the name of it. If I remember, I'll check for the name tonight Carl.
Sassy had a similar "slide" last winter at my neighbors..wheel chair ramp iced over....butt over head. I tried not to laugh, failed miserably
Been there.... done that. It is really hard not to laugh when they look at you afterwards like 'WTF happened???'
All kidding aside, if it is that slippery, I will take them down to the pen through the walkout basement door. It is just easier to let them out the back and let them use the ramp than to try and get them to go down the stairs going to the basement. Buddy has no problems with them, but Mollie and Daisy have not mastered going down a long flight of stairs yet.

That was "the look" I got. Or it was "why the hell did you let that happen retard, I just fell on my ***"??
Just reading this stuff is making me snicker

ah, there's nothing better than some of the looks you get from a dog!! My collies has given me some classics, always makes me wish I had a camera handy!
