06 f-150 tranny noises
my father bought a 2006 ford f-150 crew cab 5.4 4x4 with 40 k on it and is complaining that after driving the truck for a while when he turns with it, it sounds like there is a random noise coming from the middle of the truck. im going out to take it for a ride now to get a better description hopefully, he also says it does it in 4x4 and 2x4... any help will be appreciated.

ok i just got back from a 45 min. drive with it. when it was still cold it wasnt really noticeable but once the truck warmed up good after about 20-25 minutes of idlin/driving it would kind of shudder when taking a left turn from a slow roll or dead stop initially but then stops. it did it at first more when turning left but eventually it was noticeable to the right as well. the tranny feels fine when driving straight, it takes off fine shifts fine downshifts smooth and seems to get the power to the ground well. im not sure exactly where the shudder is coming from either i dont know if it has something to do with the limited slip or something. i did a quick test and put one foot on the brake and one on the gas and the truck seemed to torque like it should a little bit but not as much as my old '99 f-150 did but the tranny doesnt slip at all even under heavy accel.
the pavement was a mix of wet pavement and some snow packed pavement and its about 20* out right now.
thanks for any help.
