06 with MP3 radio ?

I have a 06 supercab with a 6 disc mp3 player radio, My ? is where in the heck or how do I hook my mp3 player cords into to make it work through my radio and speakers? My 07 explorer has a port on the console so i can plug into, but I'll be darn if I cannot find it on my truck. Hope someone can help me out, Thansk.

you need to buy a rca cord that plugs into the back of the radio. The 07s and up came with a plug in the tray on top of the dash for this purpose.

ipod hookup

Where in the world would I find something like that? My stock radio says mp3 so I figure it has to be ready for it,. Is ther a plug in the back that i would hook something up to? Boy i sure would like some info on how to make this work, Thanks.

that MP3 on your radio is referencing the CD players ability to read/play MP3 discs

as rplatt mentioned, the 2007+ models have the adapter port for MP3 standalone players (iPod).


you can buy PIE adapters that will do this for you. Do a search. There are a few good write-ups about this subject

Hell, 1 CD holds an unGODLY number of MP3's, and you can load 6 CD's worth in your truck in one shot. I hate where my iPod jack is. It's like begging someone to break in and steal it sitting up there. Not to mention if you leave it out, then it sits in direct sunlight.

alot of guys actually relocate that jack to the glovebox or ash tray. that way it's hidden and a thief won't see your iPod just in case you forget it
