few questions about my 94 L
Just got it today and have a few questions
Cruise control isn't working for me. Is there a secret to it?
Can I use my 9mm Ford Racing plug wires off my 5.0 F150 on the Lightning? Also have an MSD dist cap and rotor on my 5.0, can that swap over to my Lightning?
It has a kenwood deck on it now and I want to put my Alpine deck from my 86 on it. Will I have to buy the wiring kit for it?

Welcome to the board!! the cruise may be disconnected, due to the fire hazard, Ford did a recall, you might want to check into that and the fuse box.does the horn work,if not it is probably the fuses. The Ford racing wires are gonna fit, but, the resistance is higher than the stockers.Try Taylors, do a search here, has alot more info on the best trucks, our gen1's.Alot of the newer stereo harnesses cover alot of years on the older stuff and you could get lucky or just use the one off the kenwood. again, Welcome

If you can't get the answer from Blurry 94 on this site you just didn't need to know.

Your failed CC cab be one of two things; a faulty disable switch mounted on the master cylinder or a bad clock spring in the steering wheel. The disable switch on your 94 should be covered under the CC recall through Ford if that is the culprit.
I believe all of your ignition components will swap over as well as your Alpine head unit; I'm assuming it already has an adapter harness and you just need to splice the Alpine harness to it.

Ok I went ahead and bought new plug wires and dist cap.
What are some quick mods I can do to get some more power? Custom intake? Ill change the exhaust up one day. Can I bump up the timing? I use 90 octane BP gas in it.
What plugs should I get and what should I gap them to? I have NGK V powers in my 86 and never had a problem.

NGK plugs are good; just gap them to OEM specs. You can bump the base timing up a few degrees, that's about the best quick mod you can do. If you hear the engine knock under heavy throttle then just back it off a couple of degrees.
For the exaust and intake, I'd do a CAI when with a header/exhaust upgrade. The stock inlet tract doesn't leave much room for expansion and the stock exhaust system has 4 cats and two mufflers, so you have an idea as to how restrictive both systems are.

Ok thanks
It has shorty headers and Borla catback exhaust on it right now. Im wanting to go with LT headers, x pipe and Flowmaster 44s with gen 2 exit.
Underdrive pullies worth the money?

The cruise actuators are also known to fail. Probably due to their mounting location. They are a Lightning only part. BIG $$$$ compared to the regular F150 part. They were still available a year or so ago.
