The Toyota looked the worst, then the Dodge and Chevy was 2nd. Ford has done a great job on this new F150.

The Dodge outperformed the Chevy.

Ford is a tough truck
Tundra is a toy. I wouldn't haul anything but groceries in one!!

You Guys don't get it. Frames should twist a little. They are designed to twist, to prevent breaking, and improve traction by keeping the wheels on the ground.

They should load the trucks with 500-600 lbs and do the test 100 times. Then inspect them for damage, loose connectors, etc.

Would You'd consider an 85K lb concrete mixer to have a weak frame? I drive them thru uneven work sites and have seen them twist 30 degrees. Wow, what a weak frame!

I think the f150's frame does twist a little, they are all made to flex somewhat.

The f150 did pretty well for sure. I would hate to see the 03 older fords go through the same course!

The Ford frames have flex in them, but why would anyone want their frames to flex so much that it looks as though the bed and cab are going to collide? After seeing how much the Toy shakes and wobbles, and all the others are not nearly as bad, I'm glad I drive Ford trucks.

No they shouldn't....because when they do the body's start to twist, breaking spot welds and causing body misalignment....also thats where alot of leaks start..in flexing spots that become misaligned......SUSPENSION is what keeps the wheels on the ground and the tires in contact....NOT the frame...

When my friend was buying his Scion, I was looking at the tundra in the showroom. They had a frame display to show how "tough" the frame was. I could bend the upper and lower parts of the "c" channel together with my thumb and forefinger....... I was NOT impressed. I don't think I'd feel safe hauling my family in a truck with a frame that weak, let alone groceries.

Whatever. This is about as lame as the Tundra commercials and the new Ram commercials.

It's a BS test made up to highlight a pretty unrealistic situation. Nobody is going to do that.

I'll go along with saying this makes the F150 better when you all start saying that 0-60 times make other brands better. At least many people will actually find themselves flooring thier trucks up steep on-ramps under heavy loads. Nobody will be driving 25MPH over anything like that.

Yes it looks like the Ford won, but I don't care as it's a stupid test.

I think the entirety of Southern California highways can be considered washboard.

I think it's a great test. Not only does it show how well designed the ford is but it shows why the other trucks lack what the ford can do. I know from seeing that video that my truck has been designed better than the others.

That was a heck of allot more than a washboard road. What kind of shocks were on all the trucks?

It was a test designed and controlled by Ford to make Ford look the best. All of them make up tests that show their truck is the best.

This was just one of them. The mileage test is even worse. Ford more than likely used the 4.6 2V with the 3.15 gearing. Who else makes anything that weak in a V8? How fast were all the vehicles going?

Again another Ford controlled test.

I disagree with you that this is a unrealistic situation. You may be right that people wouldnt drive over the washboard that fast though. That would rattle the rest of your truck apart pretty quick no matter how tough the frame is!
I think it does show the frame quality though, and shows it is top notch.

This is where I do agree with ya. Things like this dont cancel other things out. Ford has the top notch frame, but is the lowest in hp and torque. Cant get around that!

Im sure you will get flooded with guys saying stuff like how the frame is more important then more power, and in some cases they may be right, but I think your bang on the nose.

I think it adds to the overall package of a f150 too. Just give us that bigger motor Ford, and ya have a truck that will smash the competition!
