'05 F-250 5.4 Gas Tank

I have an F-250 with the 5.4, everytime I go to fill the gas tank, the pump shuts off every couple seconds making filling up a huge pain, any ideas to what could cause this?

did u try twisting the fuel nozzle to the sides ??

sometimes if u stick it in to far or not enuf, it can cause the filling station to "burp" and shut off...

Have a look at this TSB:

Some 2005-2007 F-Super Duty 250/350 vehicles may experience premature automatic shut off of the fuel fill nozzle, or repeated fuel shut off at the fuel station delivery nozzle. Vehicles operated in muddy or dusty environments can encounter a dirt-clogged carbon canister system. More specifically, the carbon canister's vent, fresh-air box, and filters, clogged with dirt from operating in such environments.
Hope that helped...

Had the same with '05' and after 170,000 miles of that grief filling, got the replacement canister and vent tube and the problem was solved. Easy fix, maybe an hour to do it.

Legally, no.

Ethically, no.

Morally, no.

Practically, maybe. Depends on where and how you reroute the vent lines.

i dont belive in global warming so i dont care about the stupid emission laws and everytime i try to fill my tank and have to stand out in in terrible weather like sideways snow -10 degrees for 20 minutes with the stupid pump clicking off every 5 seconds,i think of our wonderful governments regulations making our trucks more expensive to buy, use, fix. And just plain pissing me off. This really makes me want to get rid of this stupid canister if i can safely.
