For the HOLIDAYS what music do you play in your household?

I'm of an open mind. Traditional, foriegn, classical, new age, old school, rock, hip-hop, whatever...

What have you chosen as your "HOUSE MUSIC" for these times?

What sets the mood in your home?

Typically it's Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Usually have it in my trucks at this time of year as well.

Good choices, Jason!

Around here, it's mostly the traditional stuff, with some slightly more modernized versions of the traditional hymns.

Right now I am watching Fox News Channel, and they have Casting Crowns on playing a rendition of "Joy to the World." I like to at least be able to recognize the original melody...

Even though I am not a big country music fan most country artist can play the traditional christmas music the best. My personal favorite is Alan Jackson "Let it be christmas".

I have about 5 'cassettes' I made taping off the radio in the last 20 years of Christmas 'Blues' music. I VCR'd the Dennis Miller 'Rock and Roll Christmas Show' (1992?)-then hooked my cassette recorder to the VCR player and made a tape of that which I play. I have 6 CD's of Traditional Christmas Music which we play. I also have about 6-8 LPs of regular Christmas Music (Andy Williams, etc.), and also DR. Demento's Christmas Album-Vol. 6-(has stuff like Grandma got run over and Cheech & Chong's "Santa Claus and his Old Lady")--and Bob Rivers' "Twisted Christmas" LP-(songs like "The Twelve pains of Christmas" and "We Wish You Weren't Living With Us").

Mostly traditional stuff but probably listen more in my truck than I do at home. I have XM and really enjoyed 36 this year. Very traditional but it has been pretty good stuff. Seems like last year XM offered more variety as having 6 or 7 channels dedicated to different types of Chirstmas music but a lot less this year...must be fallout from the Sirius takeover

You would think living where I do it would be Elvis. If I have a chance later I'll look for a 101 Strings boxed set of Christmas tunes but I forgot this time around.

On Christmas I often remember way back when - the capehart hi-fi tuned to XMAS music in my Poppas living room in San Diego with all the friends and relations over to visit.

33 1/3 albums of classics sometimes played (Including "POLKA'S")...

Also for some reason an old song called "The Snowbird".

Those were magical times, in my recollection

ANYTHING other than christmas music. I can't stand it! Christmas music flips a switch in my head somehow, and I turn into a raging mainiac that will do anything at all costs to get away from it, or to kill the source of the horrible crap. This week as been the first week I've listened to CD's in my truck since I installed the CD player 2 months ago, because there was nothing but christmas music on the radio.

Sorry...but Bah Humbug on the music...

May I suggest "STONE TEMPLE PILOTS" then?

Since you have suggested a "CONTRE DI" I think I will explore RAMMSTIEN again though....

"PROST!"

I like a little traditional Christmas music mostly with my children and grand child but that seems plenty even this year being the first I have enjoyed in many years. I' am a firm beleiver of the evening before and a little the next day but then I would rather visit without interuption.
