Your lucky it wasn`t a PSD as 50-60 clicks was a pretty good speed when he hit Sandi, a good thing it was a smaller car. No whiplash?
I`m always leery of stopping at a red light coming in on the highway at the edge of town and it was really unnerving when on a motorcycle.

Especially in the Winter. When I was on motorcycles, I did the same thing , often with the bike in first and the clutch in, in case I had to make a fast move to avoid whoever was incoming fast in the rear.
I also tried to avoid stopping in the middle of the lane with my bikes as I found lot's of residual fluids...antifreeze, diesel, oil, etc...sometimes accumulating in the middle of the lane....not good for stopping on a two wheeler.

Those grand prixs are kinda the newer "boats" although im glad it wasnt a PSD, or even worse a peterbilt with super b's!
Sandi didnt get a scratch, no whiplash, she was worked up a little and swore at the guy haha. (im starting to rub off on her a little )
I was honestly surprised that the little civic took a hit so well. When she told me she was rear ended I thought for sure she woulda been in the hospital, and for sure we were getting a different car!
Most accidents are preventable, but getting rear ended is one thats very hard to prevent!

Riding a motorcycle is a good way to learn how to avoid accidents if you want to survive.........
Sandi was lucky, most of the time there`s at least some pain involved with a rear end collision. I got hit from behind in the 84 Ranger regular cab resulting a mild concussion and a day long headache plus a small cut when my head hit the rear window. No damage to the Ranger as the solidly mounted steel rear bumper had no give to it. Luckily the Ranger was loaded down with 6-700 lbs of feed bags or it may have been worse.
