Just picked up a c6 for my 460. Was told it is out of a 1 ton van. The ID tag reads: PJD E1 FC 068623. It is for sure the big block housing. Just wondering if the numbers will tell me anything else. It also has a 17 some inch tailhousing with angled mounts. Thanks.
No..? Lets try this then. What I really need to know is if anyone has seen a c6 transmission that has a tailstock that is 17 inches long and has mounts that are at a 45 degree angle? I looked thru a whole transmission mount catalog and didn't see a single one that looked like it. Thanks again.

Econoline? Not!
I was suspicious the second I read that angled mount reference.
PJD-E1 = 1972 Lincoln Continental Mark IV & Town Car, both w/a 460.
It took me 30 minutes to find that damn code, because I first looked in all the truck parts catalogs from 1964 thru 2002...nothing.
Then I looked thru all the Ford car parts catalogs from 1965 thru 1979...nothing.
After looking in the 1973/79 L/M parts catalog, I finally found it in the 1965/72 L/M parts catalog.
You just don't look up that code...it's only listed under the YEARLY application charts, and there are 100's!
And the codes aren't listed numerically, there's a ref to a PJD-D code in the 1980/89 truck parts catalog.
My great thanks and apologies. Thank you for the info and trudging through the numbers. My apologies for the misdirection. The life of any part is interesting I guess. The guy told me it came from a van, but then I suppose before that is was in a Lincoln...or whatever...but initially a Lincoln. Now I can go in find the right mount!
