BF Goodrich or Goodyear?
Hey guys I purchased my '06 F-350 4x4 DRW a few couple months ago. It's time to replace the tires yep all 6 lol. It currently came and still has the BF Goodrich Rugged T/A 245/75/17 Load range E. My question is what past experinces have any of you had with this tire as to a Good Year same load Range etc? Just curious before I lay down $1200.00.
Thanks in Advance.

I've been very happy with my Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. I've had them for over a year and 20,000 miles and they still look fantastic.
They are quiet, ride good, and the winter traction in the snow and ICE have been outstanding. They are wearing very even.
I'd put them on again.
I have a 2006 F-250 Crew Cab, 4X4, SB, SRW, with the Powerstroke Diesel.

I recently had a little bit of snow here, with frozen sleet/rain/slush underneath which is usually a sign to stay home.
The Goodyear Silent Armors I have did a GREAT JOB to the point of not even needing 4x4 to stay stable.
First time I EVER had a tire get that much traction in situations like that.
Even the BFG's I had on my highboy weren't that good.
They are wearing slightly faster than I would have expected, but I do all stop-and-go driving and hardly any highway, and I don't take it easy taking off with my V10

The general consensus is that the Goodyear Silent Armor is a great tire, with the only negative being the sidewalls are not quite as stiff as the BFGs. Some owners report a little more squirmy feeling out of them but that comment is usually prefaced with "slightly".
You may not even notice, with a dually.

I'm another one that hasn't had good luck with Goodyears, and have very good luck BFG/Michelin. Tires are so subjective though, and depend on the vehicle, the driver, the maintanence, etc. I've heard good things about the Silent Armors though (not directly, but what I've read online). Also, you might try Toyo M55 or something similar if they have your size.
