BF Goodrich or Goodyear?

Hey guys I purchased my '06 F-350 4x4 DRW a few couple months ago. It's time to replace the tires yep all 6 lol. It currently came and still has the BF Goodrich Rugged T/A 245/75/17 Load range E. My question is what past experinces have any of you had with this tire as to a Good Year same load Range etc? Just curious before I lay down $1200.00.

Thanks in Advance.

I personally havent had great luck with Goodyear. I know many who have. If I had to choose between the two I'd go with the BFG. I liked those tires on my Explorers. If I could pick any brand, Michelin hands down

I've been very happy with my Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armors. I've had them for over a year and 20,000 miles and they still look fantastic.

They are quiet, ride good, and the winter traction in the snow and ICE have been outstanding. They are wearing very even.

I'd put them on again.

I have a 2006 F-250 Crew Cab, 4X4, SB, SRW, with the Powerstroke Diesel.

I recently had a little bit of snow here, with frozen sleet/rain/slush underneath which is usually a sign to stay home.

The Goodyear Silent Armors I have did a GREAT JOB to the point of not even needing 4x4 to stay stable.

First time I EVER had a tire get that much traction in situations like that.

Even the BFG's I had on my highboy weren't that good.

They are wearing slightly faster than I would have expected, but I do all stop-and-go driving and hardly any highway, and I don't take it easy taking off with my V10

my 250 SD has a nice set of good years and I have nothing bad to say about these tires what so ever.
Great for all road conditions.

The general consensus is that the Goodyear Silent Armor is a great tire, with the only negative being the sidewalls are not quite as stiff as the BFGs. Some owners report a little more squirmy feeling out of them but that comment is usually prefaced with "slightly".

You may not even notice, with a dually.

I have had very bad luck with the Wranglers and outstanding luck with the ATKO's.

Another tire I've had good luck with is the Nitto Terra Grapler.
Another tire I've had bad luck with is the Ravo Dueller.

Have used BFGs for years. I really don't like Goodyears tread designs or compounds. JMO.

I'm another one that hasn't had good luck with Goodyears, and have very good luck BFG/Michelin. Tires are so subjective though, and depend on the vehicle, the driver, the maintanence, etc. I've heard good things about the Silent Armors though (not directly, but what I've read online). Also, you might try Toyo M55 or something similar if they have your size.

Ditto that. Goodyear SAs on mine have given me nothing but excellent service. Best traction I've had in the snow in years and haven't had to use 4WD yet. Have had three snows this year so far in SW VA and had no trouble going anywhere. I've had Wranglers years ago on other trucks and these are much better than the previous ones.

Those Rugged Trails have to be the worst tire ever. I used to hold on with both hands when I hit an expansion joint in the rain with those tires.

I am really really happy with the Goodyears that came on my Ford 20" rims.
