2008 V10 w Manual
I'm looking at a used 2008 F350 DRW with V10 and manual to add to my fleet.
What's the reduction in horsepower or torque for the V10 with the manual over the torqshift automatic?
Also, does the manual configuration come with standard 6.8L 4.10 rear or is it 3.73? Does it really matter with the manual if its the 3.73?
Finally, I've not operated a Ford SD manual since my 1997 460 (still own it!) how is the new manual transmission?
Any reports on MPG for this combination?

Finally had time to spend late today on this. The HP and TQ are the same for the manual but the tow ratings are less with the manual. 1,000lbs less in both categories.
I'm now down to wanting to know if the performance of the V10 with manual and 4.10 is better or equal to the V10 with 4.30 and automatic. It must not be since the published ratings from Ford are less rated.
Given all of this, why would anyone purchase a row-n-go over the auto except for initial price and repair/maintenance costs?

01 v10 six speed here. 118,500 miles. clutch still feels tight and nice. not a single problem to speak of. for me its the fun factor of the 6 speed. i have never had anything other than a manual. when i get clutchitis finally, i will finally break down and go with one of the slick new automatics. have heard much praise about them. for now, i'll row my own!

i dont think its so much the manual transmission as it is the clutch. apparently ford doesnt believe too many people still know how to properly drive a stick tranny anymore and are afraid the clutch will burn out towing and backing. cuz the zf tranny is rated to 450hp. thats not the problem.

I think its prtly torque converter helps multiple the torque on take off, and that with a manual and a bad driver its easier to shock load the parts.
