Will dealers negotiate nelow the Ford ...

For 2009's, will dealers negotiate below the Ford discount and rebates prices they give you up front?

How do you negotiate with them to do it?

The dealer can sell you the truck for $1 if he wants.

Thanks Chuck.

I see your have a modestly high intellect but little common sense.

Common sense will tell you the dealer will sell at any price he can. Above or below the Ford discounts and rebates is his decision.

I have found within the last month that they will not. What I have had 3 Seperate dealers tell me is that they feel that because of the production #'s slowing down that there will be low supply and a big demand for these. Gs Price will dictate this for sure over the next few months. 42,8 is the lowest I was able to get a dealer to go on a loaded 09 EL limited w/ NAV & DVD. Though I was able to buy a 08 EL Limited for 36K W/out Nav & DVD. I plan on putting those in myself. I felt that was a great price, I hope.

Bopper, on our trip east and back west during the past few weeks I called and inquired by phone and stopped in with untold dealers trying to find the 09 I wanted.

I was told by my dealer on the east coast -that I have used over the years- they would take $1000 off + incentives, to get the deal done on an 09.

Coming back I found the truck with the color, options [load leveler susp] that I was willing to buy.

The dealer near here lost the sale because he had to DX the vehicle from about 1000 miles away and after I said I'd take it he kept making the price go up.

I contacted the dealer in the NW directly, the actual owner of the dealership picked up the phone [they are a LARGE dealer with mostly only loaded vehicles near a huge household known computer company -and supply the employees], I sensed it was not some flunky and asked who he was and if he owned the place, he was very modest, we chatted a while, he knew my dealer by name back east and I asked for $1000 off on top of the rebates and he agreed without missing a beat.

So, he turned me over to his fleet mgr, and he made everything haopen, very customer oriented, FedEx'ed the docs back and forth repeatedly, made aggrangements for his DX driver to meet me in SLC and I took it on home from there.

Their title lady seems to be an idiot because I finally got temp tags today after about 2 weeks to drive it to get the VIN number inspection but it has been worth it because getting new toys is mostly a yawn to me anyhow.

So, notwithstanding the few stupid posts to my thread, that's how I negotiated my new 2009 Vapor Silver Expy.

It's a beautiful truck and I'm sure yours is too and you will really like it.

Congratulations!

PS -For others still waiting to buy, use the Ford zip code search and you will find there are still tons of them out there and the dealer uses this scarcity BS as a marketing tool.

I just told them they better sell them fast because the economy will probably collapse in about 2 more months and why I expect that to happen.

That was effective and a lot of sales folks over the weeks got into long discussions on my nickel about the economy. [grin]
