Sometimes in very cold weather the latches will get stuck in the open postion. When you close the door it just bangs the frame and pops open, doesn't latch. Clean and lube the latches.

Last week I was dealing with this same problem but with even colder temperatures. I used a deicer spray in the door mechanism to get the frozen door to free up. Then I used a silicone spray inside the door mechanism and wiped down both the rubber seals and the door frame to prevent it from freezing shut.

...oh, also check that the door latching mechanism is in the "open" position before closing. It could be the that latch is in the "closed" position on the door and that is why it is not working when you shut the door. If it is in the "closed" position when pull the handle to open and use a screw driver or something to open the latching mechanism.

i have heard that the electric door locks might be not 100% open and causing the door to not latch. had this on the Taurus 2 weeks ago. we finally go it to latch, did the WD40, did the screw driver on the latch, etc.. all no luck. finally it just popped... i later read on another site that if you excercise the door lock (manual **** by window if you have one) that it should work. also said the only permanent fix was to remove door panel and get right into the area and lube. lube from the outside did not seem to help me.
