Paul, I almost forgot, the cost was $425 delivered from Chicago to Middle TN which I thought was pretty steep. He didn't tell me how much of that was shipping. Probably at least $100 - 150 for shipping considering the weight and bulk.

Just to update, I took the drive shaft to Clinard's Shop in Nashville (615-242-4253) and $400 later I have a standard carrier bearing on it. It was a bit steep but he had to cut it up and put on a new End Yoke, Stub shaft, and replace the strap, u-joint and of course the bearing.

Now if it goes again I can get the bearing anywhere and it'll be a $50 fix and I won't have to worry about Ford wanting me to buy a new drive shaft again.

He did tell me that the bearing was about 3/8 shorter than the old one was so I would need to check for vibration after it was installed and may need to space it out that 3/8. He said it may or may not be a problem.

Here's what's happening;I took the shaft to a shop. They are going to make a complete copy of the original because the bearing in the hanger is unavailable for the original shaft. This will end up costing me $950CDN and I'll be on the road again Wednesday
