Champion 7989 Spark Plugs

Not to my knowledge. The Champs are far superior in my opinion, and they are platinum plugs, so the replacement mileage is comparable to the OEM Motorcraft plugs. I'm on my second set now, and no major issues whatsoever. The first set even came out easier than the Motorcraft originals. I highly recommend them. Truck just turned over 200,000 miles an perking along just fine.

I just installed my second set of champions. I was replacing fuel injectors since I recently read that the 2005 had bad injectors which can destroy the motor so I figured it was a good time to change the plugs also. The first set had 60,000 miles and 6 years on them. I was glad that they are welded as it took a lot of torque to get them out, even using carb cleaner. I checked the gaps and they were less than 44 mils which means no opening. I tore one boot. Spraying WD40 down the center of the boot didn't help. Then I used a hard wire down the center of the boot to break the seal and then they came off.
