Hello. I have a 2001 ford escape v-6 4x4 alt with a automatic transmission. i need to replace the transmission and was wondering if they updated the trans in the newer models of the escape and if they would be a direct bolt up into my 01 escape. thanks.

I have a question also. Is the Automatic transmission the same in a 4 cylinder as the 6 cylinder for 4x4 models.
