96 F-250 Headlight assembly
I'm trying to replace the headlamps on my 1996 F-250 and after having popped the hood and removed the two obvious screws on the light molding I've reached a bit of an impass. And so before I start disassembling way more than necessary I hope that someone might be able to walk me through how its supposed to be done. Any diagrams, pictures or illustrations would be a real help as well.
Thanks much

I will give you my description on this as I completed the same project recently. I feel the easiest way to do this is to remove the parking lamp assembly which holds the corner lamp as well as the two bottom hlamp bezel screws. The nuts for the parking lamp can be found directly behind the parking lamp- between the metal radiator support and the lamp itself. This nut is a 9/16 and I didn't need a deep socket only an extension. I found removing windshield washer container helps access the driver side. ONce the parking lamps are off, I would remove the entire header panel (black plastic support for the assembly). This is, I believe 8 or ten easily accessible bolts. By this time you will have had to remove the grille which is just a few screws across the top and one down the middle. Unbolt all the bolts for the header panel and the entire thing will come off. Now you can access the tedious U- clamps which hold the headlight assembly on to the header panel. Removing those clips is no fun without the panel off. From here replace your headlight assembly and put the panel back on. THen put the parking assemblies back on and you are done. Really simple once you figure out the bolts on the parking lamps and the silly u clips that hold in the headlamp.. Hope this helps...

Thanks much for the vital pointers, rather tough finding something you're not aware your supposed to be looking for, especially when its one of those things you cant see to begin with. i.e. those cleverly position nuts below and in front of the batteries. Thanks much for the push in the right direction, got her all apart and back together in a couple of hours.
