Sounds like fun.

Who are you, and how do we go about contacting you? You don't have enough posts to enable your PM's, and you don't have your contact by e-mail selected.

Hmm...I work in Harrison a few days a week. I have students from the Lead Hill area.

I just looked on a map....there is a truck stop up there? OOOOK. It is in the middle of nowhere. LOL

If any of the guys from the chapter are going...let me know. I won't mess with the dyno, but I would like to meet some of the other members.

Ahh...truck SHOP. I read it totally wrong. I read truck STOP.

Can you say OOPS!

I could not figure out why there would be a big truck stop way out there.

Anyway, if anyone from here decides to head up this way...let me know.

I live in Mountain home, but I work in Harrison part time. In fact, I am sitting at a desk in Harrison right now (before work).

My 56 is my daily driver. It is stock. No need for a dyno on it. LOL

Brian, you could do a couple passes just to get a base. This way if you ever do build, you ahve that starting point! I know I will put my 4.9 on a dyno when I get a chance. It is stock but ONE DAY it might get built!

You just might have some competition on the lowest HP with a 52 year old totally stock (really worn) Y-block.

I doubt the torque is even anywhere close to what it was back then.

I was told these were the specs way back in 56:

171 HP @ 4400 RPM; 260 ft. lbs. of Torque @ 2100-2400 RPM

Any clue what your MB was rated?

If it ever gets a rebuild (yeah right!) it will go back stock. I run 65-70 down the highway all day long with no problem. I could push it faster (Y-block are made to wind out), but no need around here.

I am not a hotrodder or anything. No smoky burn outs for me. Getting way to old for that, plus I could not afford the tires and the tickets.

We will not need any donations for the plaques guys. They have been taken care of by Heartlanddiesels.com. There will also be a cash prize for the top two trucks with and without nos as well as many other prizes.

Brian, the MB was rated at 125HP when new, but that was 200K miles ago. I am not sure of the torque rating. It would be interesting to see just what it would do now.
