I orderd a 2009 250 and found out it was damaged during shipping, dealer did not tell me but another source said the truck has been put on hold due to damage. Don't know what or how bad, if not too bad may still accept truck once its fixed, but do you think Ford should knock of price of truck for this inncident? If so how much? Anyone else been though this?
Many years ago a friend of mine ordered a new 3500 chevy. He knew when the truck was shipped from the factory and when the truck didn't show up when it should have he found out the transporter damaged it. The transporter was having it fixed so they could delever his truck. Neither the dealer our chevy knew this, but they were able to determind the truck had been repaired when it was delivered. Needless to say he ordered another truck. Now if the damage is over a certain ammount doesn't it have to be reported? Second wouldn't your title be marked as a damaged unit making it worth less to some? Your lucky to know this happened.
I would get them to adjust the price at a min. I would also want to see all paperwork on the damage and repair...what about warrenty on the repair job?
If I ordered a truck, (and I have in the past...couple times.) I would never take delivery on a repaired new rig.
Unless it is a scratch to the paint, order another one. What if some clown drove it off of the side of the transporter truck ? Would you still take it?
You ordered it. I assume that you're prepared to pay full price. Get a NEW one!
From the sketchie info you have maybe it is not damaged, do you have a factory spray in bed liner on your build if you do that may be the problem.
Mine was ordered Aug 29 build date Sept 29 on the ramp at KY truck plant for shiping with a ETA of Oct 19 it is still siting on the ramp apparently waiting for a replacement bed along with a lot of others. They had a problem with adhesion of the material and are replacing the beds spray in liner option has been put on hold until job 2 that may be what the damage is.

i would find out exactly what the damage was and go from there... if it is something like hdway said i wouldnt worry to much about it as long as it will be fixed
Hey man you don't want a damaged truck, if thats the case. That will eat at you the rest of the time you own the truck. You'll have an uncompleted feeling. Just something to think about. Good luck to ya!
I know the truck is in Winston-Salem NC. at the transporter yard, but I can't find out any info. on damage, going to call dealer today to see if they will be honest about inncedent. If not I'll wait untill it comes in and then play my cards.
I'm curious as to how you found out?? if the dealer didn't tell you??
We had a simmilar incedent back in 1992-we were buying a brand new Cougar, our dealer didn't have the color we wanted so he agreed to get one first from anouther dealer about 100 miles away by sending his "lot boy" to get it....I said "NO WAY" is a young greasy lot boy going to abuse my new car for 100 miles!!
They then said we'd have to pay for transportation-we agreed and then they tried to cheapen the deal on their end by contracting a kind of shady fellow with a rather worn out pickup truck and car hauler trailer to go & get our car.
Well somewhere between pick up and delivery the left fender was damaged so they sent it to their body shop for repairs without telling us and when we called to say we were on the way the sales guy said it wasn't quite ready and when I asked why not he said it was in the body shop, I then asked why our brand new car was in a BODY SHOP & he reluctantly told me about the damage.
I don't think they were planning on telling us....and when we got there to get the car it looked like a beginer at MACCO repaired it!! overspray all over everywhere, and they got the newly painted fender way too shiney so they took a high speed buffer to the rest of the brand new paint to try & match it but ended up burning it in SEVERAL places, and THEY got mad when we refused the car!!!! (WOW)
They agreed to get us anouther car (the other dealer had 4 more in the color we wanted) and 2 days later they called and said they were sending our deposit back and that WE were too difficult to deal with!!
A word to the wise....BE CAREFULL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Find out the facts. If it has been damaged AT ALL, ditch it, demand a new one.
Easy for me to say, I'm not sitting here without a truck waiting, but if you are like me, you plan to have this truck for many-a-moon, so don't compromise.
