The 01 has the infamous diode transmission that is known to puke around 150-160K, this truck wouldn't have that same problem but you are right that the trans is the weak point, esp. with a chip and a shift kit already installed.
I've been working with yorel23 to try and get ahold of this guy (truck is in my home town) but haven't had any luck.
