This is cool! 3208 is a good engine and with a good tranny like a ten speed RR they work well they like rpm

Boy I miss working on the older trucks look at the room under that hood so easy to work on.

Someone posted a link a while back to a site that described how to turn up the mechanical engines in the over the road trucks. It was actually quite interesting, i just cant remember where it was.

The OBS is Top Shelf imop, and the PSD too,,,,, but I sure wish I had a Cummins just to get away from the V-8. The V-8 makes everything more difficult a straight 6 is the way to go imop,, however that said you'll never see me in a Dodge truck even if it does have a rightious engine

3208....

so bad a motor that the us government wouldnt even buy them.... that engine was submitted for testing as a replacement in the 5 ton trucks under a repower test..... we actually still have the last remaing test vehicle using that engine. i have driven it. no good in my opinion.

We had an old F800 it had a 3208 with a ten speed Road Ranger that we installed we also got rid of the junky no good for nothing two speed rear end That truck was a bullet it had no problem hauling around 2000g of liquid it always started in the cold but smoked like a mother trucker. we sold it to a remote community up north I was there last winter and they are still using the truck! it must have a million miles on it.

Back in the day this was a primo engine and sure it is a dog compared to today's engines
most of you guys commenting on this engine were still swimming around in your dads satchel when it was being used as a regular power plant and compared to it,s competitors of the day was a good choice good on fuel and reliable

Thanks Rodney, I'll have to bookmark it this time.

We've got a plow truck with a 3406A and that this is an animal, I've moved snow piles with that thing that I thought were staying till they melted. Granted it has a lot to do with other factors but never once have I been able to bog that motor down.
