I was just thinking about this truck the other day!
Has anyone got the chance yet to look up the vin to find any service repairs?

What, you think its just a hoax. 150,000 miles with no problems is awesome and it shows just how well built these trucks are. That truck held up nicely and is still in great shape.

So, uhm, what? The 6.4 is more reliable than the 6.0?

Thumbs up Fantastic!

150,000 miles pulling a 40 foot 12-18 thousand pound trailer is similar to 300 to 400+ thousand miles empty which is the way most of us run these trucks. This is an awesome feat!

The road test was incredible. The first of it's kind.

FORD trucks are incredible. The only one of their kind.

Just my 2 cents.

I have two 6.0's, an '05 and an '06, and I have had very few problems for 120,00 miles.
They are great trucks.

I love my 6.4 but I still really like my 6.0's. However, I loved my 6.0's before I was introduced to the 6.4.

The 6.0's got a lot of bad press for things that should have been prevented. The engine was rushed to compete with the other two of the big 3 and then problems occurred the dealers could not handle them because no one knew what the heck they were doing.

I love my 6.4(you have to drive one to understand) but I still really like my 6.0's.

Well, thats all good to hear. Seems as though Ford may have gotten their act together.

I'm a huge Ford fan, however I've got an '05 6.0 that has had mucho problems and is very unreliable. Its stock, no mods. This is my first diesel and after this experience I seriously doubt I'd be able to be convinced of buying another.

The Fist,

I hate to hear that you had problems. It just sucks when you spend so much money on something and you just want it to work and do what you bought it to do in the first place.

Thankfully I have had FORD's since 1992 and have had extremely good luck with them.

Test drive a 6.4L and it will definately bring you back. Drive one with a Spartan 275hp tune and there will more than likely be one sitting in the driveway. Love my 6.0L but these 6.4L's are awesome and have a MUCH better track record out the gate so far!

Sadly I bought my truck because this video convinced me that Ford diesels are the way to go. Their truck went 150000 miles. Mine made it less than 1/10 that milage (less than 15000 miles) and already has a new short block. Not everyone has had a GREAT experience with this engine!

Thanks guys. For now I'm just going to stick with what I've got and try some of the stuff thats been recommended on this site. 4" turbo back cat delete exhaust and egr delete kit. With what these things cost there's no way I'd take a chance on another. At this point, if I absolutely had to have a diesel I would just hold out for an 02 7.3. No chance I'd buy a new diesel of any make.

gopedoligist,

Always good to hear about someone else using and enjoying their FORD trucks as much as I do and getting good performance out of them while doing it.
