They are very easy to replace, You can pick them up at ford. There is 2 plastic bushings that go between the hold down strap and the shifter.

Are they 2 piece bushings, or do you have to remove that whole shaft assembly.

There is a split in the the bushings so that you can open them up and put them around the shaft.

cody, thanks for comin' over there, updating and gettin' that info!!! i haven't been able to check back, but i didn't even remember where the slop was coming from the next morning anyways....

Wacey took a list of parts to give to his grandpa to see what parts he may already have or can get for us so they can get the truck back on the road. i can't get over there to fix those fuel leaks for awhile between work and i still have to fix all my leaks first.

thanks guys

Check the steering box where it bolts to the frame. I had a lot of play in my truck when I bought it and the bolts were about to fall out. When you would turn to the right the box would pull away from the frame which could be the play you are describing.

cody, since i haven't gone to get all the parts for my truck yet to fix my fuel leak and stuff roy and i went over there tonight and fixed those 2 hard lines on the front of the engine. so 2 leaks down 98 to go right? oh and i found more problems also. the power steering pump is dry so it's got a leak somewhere and the fuel filter is nasty and the bowl is about like Jude's was. the FPR screen is MIA as well. i went to check it and what do you know? it's not even there!!!!!

i will check the steering gear box next time i go over there. i'm sure it's going to be a few weeks or so before i can fix anything else on it so i can fix my own truck.

Oh yeah, cody, if you need/want/could use help with anything on Rockee call me. i can make it to help with him most likely
