Highboy add a leaf

I have a highboy f250. The front leafs measure 3 inches across and the rear measure 2 1/4 inches. When I look for an add a leaf kit it asks if I have 3 or 2 1/2 inch leafs. What the deal with mine? I have an extra set of springs from another highboy. Can I take a few out of the extra set and put them on mine to make it bigger? Should I take the leafs from the bottom or the top if I did that? Thanks

This is common for the high boys, you might have to look harder to find a leaf for the rear.

You can just add more leaves from another set, but you'd probably have to play around a bit to find the combo you like.

I think the way it works is that the longest springs determines the unloaded ride quality and the shortest spring is where the load starts to go. As you add more weight the mid springs start kicking in, then lastly the overload spring takes over. the overload spring is a stand alone spring that sits above the rest.

If your just looking for a simple lift, you can just start adding springs and see how it feels. I'd be surprised if you can't find a spring for the rear, maybe try National Spring, they custom make springs.
