my 6.0 is getting to be "cold natured". By that I mean it runs really rough untill the motor warms up. When I first start the truck for the day (dosent matter what temp it is outside) it kind of sounds like the truck is jumping. It starts fine. no real problem getting it to start. then if you drive it with out giving it 30 min or so to warm up it runs real bad. Fells kind of like a gas motor that is missing. No power, but no smoke either. I'm not sure what the problem is with it. Could it be something to do with the egr system. maybe injectors. I need some help. As all ways thanks in advanced for the help.
so where is a good place to get injecters? Should I do all 8 at once? Should I just get aftermarket? I was thinking about spartan stage 1 performance. Is that going to make much difference in the way my truck drives? How are they for longivity? They are expensive so I might have to go with stock.
I plan on going with a set of stage 2 and aftermarket turbo. I am going to get them from Josh (Bogging350). He builds the injectors for Spartan. I think his company is river city diesel. He hasn't sent me a quote yet.
The way I see it is if I need injectors I might as well do them all and upgrade at the same time.
any other posibilties? injectors are kind of high to just jump into that. Cant ford tell me by hooking up to the truck? I have 110,000 miles on the truck now so I dont have any warrenty.
if you go aftermarket a SCT becomes more important. sure your bd will work fine but to get the most out of them performance/economy you will want custom tunes. my moto is when ever i need to replace i upgrade (usually it doesn't cost any/much more than stock and your better off for the long run). Almost all my mods are from replacing stock parts that went out.
The cold-blooded problem can be fixed with the most recent flash. This should be taken care of by your dealer under the 100K warranty.
As long as temoreatures are not much less than 20 degrees F, your truck should start easily and run smoothly without having to resort to special additives or having to use the block heater. Get the dealer to fix it.
Try a search about "stiction" and there should be lots of additional information.

I do plan on getting an sct, but I was wanting to hold off till spartan get there Phalanx. I think I want that instead. If I end up doing all 8 then I will for sure go after market.
My truck had the same problem when I hit 95,000 miles and it was the #8 injector and the egr valve was sticking. That is what the dealer said anyway. Luckily it was under warranty.
