HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!......what tire do i buy????????????????????????????
The 15, 16, 16.5 etc. is the rim size (the diameter of the rim). A specific rim is not for a specific truck. A 16" rim can go on a F150, F250, F350, Expedition, on probably any truck you want. I don't think that the 15" rim will work on the F150 or F250 because of caliper (brake) problems, atleast this is what I've been told from some 4x shops. Your F250 should have came with a 16" rim so I'd stick with a 16" or larger. Hope this helps a little.

The previous poster made a mistake in regards to an F-150. An F-150 comes stock with 15" rims, and will take anything larger, but nothing smaller. An F-250 can take anything larger that a 16" rim. I THINK that the 350s come with 16.5" rims and you could put anything larger than that. I should have clarified that in my first post, sorry. You can't go any smaller than what was stock because of the clearance on the brake caliper.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!......what tire do i buy????????????????????????????
16.5's don't use bigger rims than 16's . . . they have a tapered bead that is a half inch bigger on the outside, but the rest of the rim is the same size as a 16. 16.5's came out before 16's and are not typically used on any vehicle made in the last 20 years or so, except for big tires. Also remember that before 1980, many F250's had 15" rims on them as they didn't have the big brakes yet. This is why there are 15" 8 bolt wheels available from the aftermarket. 1980+ F250's and F350's need 16 inch rims since the front rotor and caliper are so large, 15" rims will still fit on the rear axle of my '86 F250 with it's drum brakes.

You got a 16.5" rim and plan to put it on a 16" tire? Thats a no no, you can't do that. Your truck comes with 16" rims stock. So you can go either 16 or larger. The rims will fit on your truck if they have the right lug pattern but they are not going to fit on those tires. A 33/12.5/16 and 33/12.5/15 are the same in width and diameter. It's just the rim diameter inside the tire that is the difference.
