Oil Pressure Gauge

i'm Looking At Installing A Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge On 89 F250 W/ 460. Can I Use A Mechanical Guage Or Do I Have To Use An Electrical Guage? Where On The Block Is The Sending Unit For The Install Of A New Gauge? Thanks For The Help.

well you can surely use a mechanical gauge but keep the line away from the headers...had one blow on me at the track in my t-bird=not fun, been a while since i worked on a 460 and can't recall if it has an oil filter adaptor with the port for the gauge on top or not but i think it does...

the sending unit is at the very back of the motor right in front of the tranny.from the passenger side look back between the throttle body and the last injector and it sets back there. I have an 89 w/460 too and I want to put a mechanical gauge on as well.

if you can run the copper line instead of plastic I sprung a familiar leak myself at the track when it melted on a header primary
