1987 Ford Fuel Gauge problem

My 1987 F-150 fuel gauge is pegged out. It has dual tanks, tried different instrument panel no change. Traced wiring didnt see a problem. When switch tanks nothing changes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sending units in tank most likly
replaced mine on my 87 worked for a couple months then back to norm.
i think it could be a junk design

Could it be the sending unit if it is maxing the gauge out on both tanks?
