Rear Cab Mount on 52

I got new dog bone cab mounts for the rear of my 52. There was a write up in Classic Truck on installing these new cast cab mounts. It showed a picture of them installed and I believe he has them backwards.I tryed to put them in that way and could not get them in.I turned them over and they mount fine!Which way is the right way?Any pictures or help on this problem before I tighten the bolts.

If you tried to install the dog bones arch down the rear of the cab would rest on the frame .This is what the idiot PO did with the stock truck I have now & in the boxes of parts was a shop manual .Go figure . So he ground out an area on the rear of the cab so it would fit .He must have been on the pipe .

It can be a booger to get it to line up in the holes right if you use a new rubber bumper between the arm and the bracket that bolts to the frame. On mine I unbolted the bracket from the frame, mounted it and the arm together, then bolted it back onto the frame, using a screwdriver through the upper holes to pull it up high enough to line up the lower bolt holes and getting the frame bolts started. Jacking the cab corner up is a must, I just couldn't get it to jack up and line up the arm/bracket hole enough so went this other route.

I finally got all the cab mounts put in.I had to use a thin board and jack the bottom of the dog bone up into the frame brackett against the rubber until I could get the bolt through. The other ones were easy,I just jacked one side of the cab at a time just high enough to slide the old out and put in the new.Everything lined up good and I have good clearance between the bed and cab.

I think your PO and my PO must be related or at least maybe they were on the pipe together sharing their ideas.......

I boxed the frame rails so i can;t do it the way Scott123 did. I hope I can do it the way leonharu did. Every project has to pass this mark so I'm surprised there aren't more threads and posts about it. Oh yea, in my avetar photo the dog bones are in without the rubber bumper.
