Sounds like there just trying to avoid giving you a new engine. I bet they don't figure it out and end up giving you a new engine after all. Sucks you don't have your truck thou.

Maybe you should call your bank and tell them you can't afford to pay for a truck that's tied up. I had similar problem years ago with a big rig,in shop for two months when I first got it. Dealership impounded it after repairs until they got a check from corporate. plowking

In IL. if the dealer has a vehicle 30 days for service in the first year it qualifies for the lemon law. That's what I'd do with it.

It's like insurance companies and how they sometimes try to worm their way out of something. You get an attorney and they end up spending more than they would've in the first place.

If your motor was compromised this whole time and Ford kept telling you "Oh that's normal, don't worry about that". It is their fault for misdiagnosing and not finding this the first time. Hopefully, they'll own up to it, fix it, and have you on your way.

The motor was compromised before they worked on it now with five weeks of some tech not knowing what he is doing it is really messed up. Ford has given me the 200,000 mile waranty on this truck with no deductible but I really just want a new motor. Something fishy is going on with this truck it feels like im not getting the whole story.
The cam and valvetrain is likely damaged. The only place needle bearings are present in the engine are the valve tappet (lifter) rollers; meaning one of the roller pins has broken and dropped the roller and needles.

This will result in the lifter riding on the cam, grinding in.

It won't cause persay catastrophic damage, but a new cam, lifter set, rod/main bearings and low pressure oil pump would certainly be in order. Do you happen to have a bill of parts that were replaced? I can say for certain if I was working on the truck, that would be the minimum amount of parts replaced. It should not, however, destroy the entire assembly.
