Now I'm at the next step.

I just got to Brussels today for a business trip and I get this call from a parts yard in Phoenix that I called two weeks ago. This guy now tells me that he has a cab that will work for my truck. He states it's off a 48 or 49 and explains that dash to me which sounds fishy. He states that the radio is high on the dash instead of it being low like my 52. He also states that the gages are the same, but his explination is different than what I have. his explination is that the odomiter is round, and the rest of the gages are round on one side and square on the other. On my truck I have two round gages. One for the odomiter and the other has everything else.

My question is; are the cabs the same except the gages, or are they different between 48-52? If they are the same except the gages, then I will pick it up and replace the dash with my dash. If not then I will continue the search.

Any help will be apreciated! Thanks

It would be a major project to put 51/52 guages in a 48/50 dash. Also the rear window is larger in the 51/52.
I do believe the cabs would interchange with no problems but you would need to use all the 48/50 stuff that goes in the dash.

The cabs 48-50 are all the same. The 51 and 52 cabs are the same. People do mix and match but if it was my truck, I would stay with the right cab for your truck. As pointed out the differences between the earlier and the later F-1 cabs are the dash and the rear window. I would keep looking.
