brake bleeding/ new caliper
I just had to order a new fr. left caliper for the truck (04 4x4 ) because it seized the other day on my way to work. I borrowed a vacuum bleeder from a guy at work and as I read the instructions it says to start at the LF wheel and then RF, LR, RR. I don't have anyone to help me so that's why I am going to use the bleeder but it seems totally backwards from any bleeding procedure I have ever done. Has anyone ever used this type of vacuum bleeder? (It's a Mityvac 4050). Thank you for any feedback.

I've had poor luck with those Mityvacs, but that was years ago, so maybe they've been improved. Per Ford's service manual and ever other source I've ever read, the pattern is furthest from the master cylinder to closest. In other words, RR, LR, RF, LF.
Find a buddy who can help you by pushing on the brake pedal during the bleeding process. You'll be happier you did it this way.

I will agree that the instructions are wrong. I used it(the Mityvac) but the way I have always done brake bleeding, rr,lr,rf, lf. Got most air out but will have to get someone to do the "pump and bleed" to get it perfect. The kit fittings suck making very frustrating to use. Maybe it's ok for vacuum testing but leaves much to be desired for brake bleeding!
