2nd Tranny!!
Hello everyone,
Hope you all are having a good weekend. I finally got my truck fired up and running after sitting up for a few months after my gear shif broke off. I got it re-welded back on also. I am at a complete loss now, because i am really not a tranny guy. It won't go into gear at all.....any gear!!! It grinds in them all. It's almost as if I am not pushing the clutch at all. Evidently, this is what happened when the stick broke. I just put this tranny in around 6 months ago. It was supposedly a rebuilt one that costs me $700.00 including labor. Warrany is out on it and now I am stuck with no ride! Being a painter that is a big problem. I certainly don't have the money to get another rebuilt one, so i am thinking that I may just go to the junk yard and see if I can find one that will fit without a lot of mods. I wish i could just fix this one, but I don't even know where to begin. It is a standard and I would like to keep it that way, but desperation may force me to just accept an automatic if it the only one I can find, and try to make the conversion. The shifter is already on the floor so I assume I can put the automatic shifter there too. Any advice for a desperate painter who needs his truck back asap would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
