ok i have a 1978 f100 it now has a 302 with a c6 tranny i have purchase a 351 c out of a mercury cougar to replace the 302 and hopfully get som more over all power how hard wil it be to fit this in
and second the leaf springs seem to be lacking in life what suspension ideas to boost it up would anyone suggest thanks for the help
ps any idea on where i can find parts for that engine
I believe the 351C and 302 use the same tranny. 351C never came in the truck though and may be hard to fit. 351m/400 would be a better choice but you would have to change the tranny to the large bell housing type.

351C has the same bell as a 302. I researched this before because I was going to put one in my truck until the guy trying to sell it to me kept refering to it as being the same as a 390 block so I just figured he had no idea what he was talking about LOL.

that was a common thing back in the day, but with todays cylinder head technology its a waste of time and money. im not positive on the amount of work needing to be done, but there is some. you would be better off buying a set of aftermwarket heads like AFR 165's or something. or if your going budget, then use a set of gt40p heads of an explorer.
also 302's are a lot cheaper to build then a 351c. you may want to keep that in mind. with a mild cam, and good heads the 302 should have plenty of power.
