Not new to Ford but got my first 250SD

I've had mostly Broncos but you just can't load a Bronco like a truck. I just restored a 66 Thunderbird Town Hardtop (428) for my wife so it was my turn to get something. I wanted something I could load my ATV in and do some cross country driving. I found a 99 F250 SD SC xlt v10 4x4. It has 250,000 but it shifts great, runs smooth, has good oil pressure and looks real clean. It has a few scratches and the inside bed is a little beat up but hey it's a truck. I picked it up for $4k out the door. I think I got a good deal.

I've had it for a week now. I'm very impressed with the power. It's like driving a smaller truck but not. Real responcive. And finally a cab that fits me. (I'm 6'4" 280). I'm in the process of doing a complete service (so I know where zero is on the service odometer) and I just put BFG A/T K/O 285/75R16E on it and like how they look much better. I gold mine for a hobby so I do a lot of off road driving.

The only problem I have so far is a power steering leak. I discovered it's leaking from the pump to gear hose fitting at the pump. I just picked up the little square teflon o-ring to install this weekend.

I've spent a lot of time over on the Ford FE forum while rebuilding the T-Bird with a lot of great help and knowing us ford guys (and gals) I'm sure to get the same here on my truck.

I guess that one of the first things I'm going to want is to find some one with a programmer local to me. I don't want to mod the performance (yet) I'd like to adjust it for the bigger tire size.

Does anybody know that the diesel tank on an F250 is lined with ceramic and at or around 100,000 miles it starts to break down and clog the filters and injectors. Is this true?

Checking in from the heart of Dixie. Have wanted an F-350 for years and finally got my wish yesterday.

Local small dealer had a beautiful F-350 on the lot so I stopped by Wednesday evening to see how much they were asking for it. They're good about putting a spec sheet with price on the dash of every vehicle on the lot - great for us after hours lurkers.

2002 model DRW with the 7.3 (definitely wanted this engine) auto tranny and 145k miles. White over gold (I'll post up pics later) Lariat. Dual power seats, leather, power everything else, factory towing package, 6 CD changer.

There is not a scratch or ding on the entire body - unbelievable condition. I had to jump on it. Not often you find a 10 year old vehicle that literally looks new. Sticker was $15,995 and I got $4k on my old beat up SUV, so net of $12k plus tax.

While we were working the paperwork, no less than three other people came in to look at it. One person even had checkbook in hand ready to pay cash outright. Glad I decided to stop by on a rainy Friday lunch break.

Hello everyone, brand new to the forum but not new to Ford Trucks. I've previously owned an 85 F-250, 93 and 95 F-150s, and a 98 Explorer.

I just bought this today. 2005 F-350 4x4 Supercab with the 5.4.

Thanks! I had really been looking for a crew cab, but I couldn't pass the deal up on this one. It seemed most crew cabs I found were Diesels with somewhere around 130-150K miles on them and were priced around $18-20,000. Anything with under 100K on it was over 20 grand. I got this one for $13,900 with 85K miles.

Hello everyone,
New to the forum, but not new to Ford Trucks.
Have owned a 2002 F-150 (traded-in).
Have owned a 2003 F-350 (stolen, May 21, 2011)
I now own a 2008 F-350, purchased on June 18, 2011.

Here are a few photos of my new (used) ride!

Glad to be here on the Forum and look forward to learning new things about my 2008 F350. Was disappointed that my previous truck was stolen, but in the end, happy with the upgrade from the 2003 to the 2008. My stolen truck was found...however, it was completely stripped. Was going to cost the insurance company more in parts than the truck was worth, so they wrote it off.

A few pics of the old ride...

Howdy!
I've had my 2011 F250 SD Diesel for 2 weeks now and have over 800 miles on it so far....been a Ford owner all my life....starting with a brand new 1982 Escort that my wife and I bought when we first got married! She drives a 2011 V6 Mustang Convertible now......that V6 can really move....has more power then the previous V8. While I have the new F250. Truck before this one was a 2005 F150 SCREW FX4 that was a good truck but was getting close to 100,000 miles on the 5.4L gas engine and was showing it's age...that and getting around 8mpg pulling the trailers.....not a good thing! So I treated myself to a new ride.....
