Welcome!

Sounds like a fun and rewarding project! Good luck and take some before/after pics to share here. (I'll be doing the same with my restoration project)

Your local auto parts store typically will check codes for free. Rarely feel any pressure from them to buy parts at that time, unless it's something serious. Most understand that since you're in their store asking, that you're working with a budget and can't afford a diagnosis bill from the dealership.

Good luck!

This looks like one of the most active forums... happy to be here and thanks for some great info.
Welcome! Been in/Drove several Raptors working my previous two jobs. Fun trucks but I still prefer diesel power.

That's not to say I wouldn't accept one and drive it daily! Who doesn't like variety?! Which is probably why i have so many vehicles.

Great hopes for the 6.7l

Reintroducing myself just seems appropriate.

New member but not quite that new myself. I never worked much on cars but always wanted and finally have the space and means to do so. Last Saturday I bought a 1987 F150 with the 4.9 engine. The truck needs some work, but that's what I wanted. I quit Facebook to not spend too much time on the computer and now I have joined this board.

Congrats on your new truck!
Thank you!

I recently bought my first Diesel truck 6.0 and it came with the Livewire TS+ I have spoke to a shop and they said that the SD card is gone therefore the Livewire is not doing anything I am trying to locate a replacement card for my truck it has everything else the sinister filtering system the screen all the wires everything but that card does anyone know where I can get one without breaking the bank or taking the whole system out if my truck... Forgive me single mother and I really do not know much about this truck... I had a 2003 Ford Mustang GT 5 speed convertible that I worked on myself but this is WAY.... different and help would be appreciated!!!

Welcome to FTE!

Try asking this in the 6.0 diesel forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum107/

A few months back I bought my first diesel truck, a 2004 F250 Super Duty King Ranch Super Crew long bed with a 6.0l. I love this truck! I've been working on several updates on it and look forward to learning more about additional "bullet proofing" the 6.0 and maintaining this truck for years to come. It is in excellent shape, had only two previous owners and has less than 170k miles on it. Glad to be a part of this community.

Whats going on guys? Newbie here but I'm looking at picking up a new truck sometime within the next month. I'm actually a longtime BMW fanboy but I've wanted a powerstroke for the longest time as a daily/workhorse. With that being said I'm looking to hopefully pick up a 15-16' f250 platinum within the next month or two. I've been watching YouTube for the past 2 weeks on nothing but powerstrokes rofl. I think I already know what I want to do to it once I finally find the unicorn I'm searching for. Anyways glad to be here!

Hello, I've been born and raised a Ford guy. I have two main projects. First: 1986 F250 with a 6.9 IDI backed by a C6. This is my Dad's daily driver. Second: 1968 F250 with a 390 FE backed by an NP435. This one is a working progress. Last summer I regasketed the engine, put new lifters on it, and a factory 4BBL intake. Currently, it needs brakes and interior work, but it runs!

Dad's 1986 F250 with a 6.9 IDI and C6.

Thumbs up Newbie from Aus

I got my 2018 6.7 DieselSuperDuty Platinum on 18 Dec and still finding where things are :-) Initial findings are great but getting used to the turning circle which is twice the size as my Jeep GC. The major problem atm is the sat nav maps are American and getting Aus maps is quite an exercise - the local converters want xtra $$s and the local Ford Dealers don't want to know or just plain don't know and Ford Australia just pass you on to the local dealers - sound familar? I find this forum to have a great deal of information and looking forward to reading more as time goes on
