Wanted to post that I Installed my SS HPX and greased my drivers side front hub assembly last night. The hub grease had some dirt and sand in it, but not as much as the passengers side. The HPX install could not have been easier! I checked for leaks last night and did not find any. I also have noticed that the engine knock has quieted down some, thanks for all the info and help provided so far!

Thanks Chris, also forgot to add that I tightened down the boot clamps. Some were pretty loose.

Make sure to keep the stock plugs and O-rings for the HPX ports in your glove box, I've heard way too many horror stories about them blowing which is why I haven't (and probably won't) done this mod.

Andrew,

Good job getting some things done.

Just how much torque did you apply to the HPX bosses? Just curious.

I did not use a torque wrench. You could definitely feel when it was tight. I pushed past that point a little to snug it up, but it was noticeable. I wish I would have gotten some torque readings thought so we could file it away. I like doing things by the book and I am sure others do too.

I haven't heard of ANY blowing. Stock HP oil lines, yes, but never the SS HPX! Mine leaked because I was too chicken to torque it down too hard, but once I put in the new O-ring and torqued it down, it's been fine for over a year now. Look at it this way -- there are already HP oil lines in your truck between the HPOP & heads. One more isn't anything to worry about, espeicially if you go SS.

Chase i have had this mod for about 4+ years now and not have i had a problem. I did have some slight leaking when i have the steal braided line, but then upgraded to the SS line from KCm and i am absolutely happy with it. there is nothing wrong with this mod. i dont ever worry about it blowing out.

I also used to have the braided hose, and mine eventually developed a leak. Switched to the SS one and no problems since. It regularly sees over 3800 psi of oil in there.
