Limited upgrades for 2008 SD with a 5.4?

I have been looking for parts for the 08 F250 and the aftermarket parts for the 5.4 are very limited. I had the exhaust done by a shop, because the only cat back I could find was Flowmaster with a 70 series muffler. I was kinda looking forward to a Magnaflow, but no such luck. And as for cold air intakes, forget it! Only Airaid had one and it snaps in to the existing box. I understand the use of the lower half of the box, but what about the intake tube? Superchip's Flashpac looks promising, but it seems for a truck as nice as this there would be more.

Now that I have finished my rant... What else do yall know of?

I feel your pain... I've been looking for upgrades for my 2005 F350 with very little success. I read somewhere that less than 10% of the Super Duties are equipped with the 5.4L. The aftermarket just doesn't view the 5.4L in the SD as something worth pursuing. Maybe the high fuel costs will motivate them to reconsider the 5.4L.

Best success!

I am currently planing an interesting intake set up for my 2008, that should work on yours. When I have completed the details and taken the air temps, I'll post a write up.

I believe that the Airaid intake reuses the efficient. true cold air box and removed the restrictive silencer tubing from the set-up. You use the M.I.T. tube with a good filter in the oem air box.
I have seen this set-up for a Dodge.

The MIT kits don't include the 2008 model. However Vibrant makes pre bent aluminum tube in a 45 degree bend and a straight section of 18" that should work. I do like the design of the Airaid kit due to the use of the air box. The stock box is moulded to include more than one component, and without cutting would be in the way anyway. If I had more time, I would either modify a Good Hood for the Powerstroke to work, or build a kit simular to Suncoast's RAISS Cold Air Intake for the old Impalas. Whatever I run with, I will have to keep intake temps low. I plan to stay in the south for a while, and don't want my new truck sucking engine heated air.

I don't like the metal intake pipes because they heat soak a lot worse than the plastic ones do.
Hopefully they will have a MIT soon for your truck. It seems to be the best route to go.
