HELP...Truck wont go over 45mpg/2000 rpm

Hello everyone,

I have been reading this forum for about 6months now (Great Info), unforetunately my first post is because I am having issues. I just got my truck back from the autobody shop (had to replace the passenger door/front fender and repaint). Before it went into the shop it was running great.

I have a 2001 F350 with, DP Tuner(Stock, Eco, 80Tow), 6637 Air Filter, Muffler Delete and a Jet Acu-Speed Unit.

Today, my truck has started to run like crap, it will not go any faster than 45MPH or ~2000rpm and feels like a dog, shifts funny and extremely touchy to the throttle. It take forever to get up to 45mph and than the entire front end shakes and feels she is going to fall apart. I have tried chaning DP modes (no luck) and pulling the Fuse to my Jet Acu-Speed Unit (no luck)

2 weeks ago I had the entire front end steering repaired (gear box, pitman arm, tierod) and it steers great.

Any suggestions?

I am going to go outside and check the following:

Oil Level
Water in Fuel
Remove Acu-Speed

Thanks,

Michael

You might want to check the UVCH (under valve cover harness) for chaffing...it sounds like a problem someone wrote about a while back and it ended up being the UVCH, I believe. I guess you could pop a new CPS into it and give that a try too.

You might have a Boot pop off and now the truck can not get any air. Check all boots.

I would check your EBPV, it sounds like it is closed, does it make a hissing or jake brake type sound

The Fuel Filter is only 6months old (~250gallons), I dont drive much.

Oil Looks good and I did not see any obvious loose connections.

Going to run to AutoZone and borrow the code reader...I will keep you posted.

Thx.

CPS FTW! Don't count on the AZ code reader being able to scan your PSD.

So you ARE getting a CEL? Definitely get that read. It will tell you where your problem is...

Looks like my issue has something to do with the fuel system.

I just replaced the fuel filter, turned the key on/off several times and now I can not get any new fuel in the bowl.

Also the truck is now DOA in the driveway.

Thoughts?

Do you hear your fuel pump "humming" when you turn your key on?

From what I remember the sound you will be listening for comes from somewhere under the drivers seat area (under truck of course).

Today, my truck has started to run like crap, it will not go any faster than 45MPH or ~2000rpm and feels like a dog, shifts funny and extremely touchy to the throttle.
That is a sign of a completely failed ICP sensor. If the PCM can't get readings from the ICP sensor, it defaults to a guessing table. On some PCM's, it limits the RPM's to 2000, and you also get the classic touchy throttle because the oil pressures are actually different than what the PCM is guessing. Your SES light should be illuminated continuously.

Looks like my issue has something to do with the fuel system.

I just replaced the fuel filter, turned the key on/off several times and now I can not get any new fuel in the bowl.
Check fuses first, as well as the fuel pump kill switch located on the passenger's side kick panel. Then suspect fuel pump second.

Going to run to AutoZone and borrow the code reader...I will keep you posted.
Autozone code readers don't work on PSD's, so don't bother.

Sounds Like A Fuel Pump To Me Can You Hear It Running When You Turn The Key On It's Located Under The Drivers Door In The Frame Rail
