About the only possible stupid attachment point for a vehicle recovery that i havent heard being used,is the driver himself! Im just waiting for a driver to hold the strap in his teeth,or wrapped around his waist..... there is likely someone out there who pegs the stupid meter, and who will make that fateful attempt someday

I like that ol' '70, looks like a good ol' friend.

It kind of looked like a Big Shivy sittin' on that Jeep frame. Nothin' like a quick release body to make running gear repairs easier.

Thats Daves truck. Good fella. That truck has been around for years, I mean years. Nice old truck. D60F with 35 spline outers, and a 14B FF out back, both with Detroits.
Nice rig. It is all business.

Ol' '70

Sounds like it is a good ol' friend. It has to be a good sign when they have been around for a long time. Looks like he has it built up to do the job.

So, did the beepy jeepy have a big shivy in it?

Yes it did have a BBC, and TH400. It was actually out again yesterday. I did nog go to Glamis, but did head back out to this area to check out some action.
While the Heep did have a BBC, it must have been a late 70's something smog engine, because it makes no real power. I mean that thig is gutless. Regardless, it runs again, and I believe they used some larger bolts and eashers for the body attachment needs.

gutless shivy

Interesting, amazing they had it back together that fast. I would think that it would take awhile to hook everything back up (electrical, linkages, etc). At least a bit of time to re-engineer it a bit to make sure it wouldn't happen again at a more in-opportune time. What do I know, the neighbor accuses me of over building everything.

I am not very confident that this thing was so well engineered in the beginning, so as long as that was the bar, it is still very easilly achieved.
I dont think it really took too long to re-wire, and bolt back up.
