MPGs for 08 and newer F250 4x4 Supercabs 5.4 vs 6.4

A NEW truck maybe the only option I may have when buying a new truck in a couple of months. (If a low mileage 7.3 or 6.0 can not be found).

What are the mileage ratings between the

V8 gasser and the V8 diesel engine.

I know that the diesel was getting 12 or so.
What is the real world MPGs for the 5.4 gasser?

I also know that the purchase price for a gasser is around 10k less.

I would like an F250 for the manual transmission option (not available on any F150).

I have an '08 CC 5.4L 4X4 auto. With 14K on it now I get 13.4 MPG. It was about .5 MPG less when new.

Mine 08 PSD F250 gets around 13-14 city and up to 18 hwy, pulling a 8K trailer around 11.

I had a 06 F250 with the 5.4 could only muster about 11.5 city and about 12.5 hwy and around 6 towing the same trailer. Had to keep your foot in it.

2008 PSD F25 crew cab short bed 3.73 axle:
Towing 6500 box trailer - 104 mpg
Not towing - highway 17 mpg.
Hope this helps, recognizing that it is for a crew cab, not SuperCab

As Senix says, you need to work the 5.4 a lot harder.

6.4 commands a $6,800 premium but that's down to $5,000 once you work the dealer. Still a fair chunk of money but half of $10k.
