For those of you looking for 7/8" Allen Wrenches for king pins. . .

This is more of an FYI. . .

There is a lot of info on the web on how to remove the King Pins from a Dana 60 front axle. . .but not so much on how to reinstall them or where to get the tool from. Most of the people doing this, according to what I have read, are using destructive methods (which is what I did, lol) to get them out which really doesn't help. . .

Happened to be at Northern Tools today buying a beater and found they carry Allen Wrenches all the way up 7/8"!

It's a monster, and fits like a glove. It is made by BONDHUS part#12120 and was $16.99

Just throwing this out there for whoever might find it useful

Also try McMaster Carr part# 53525A14. Its a 7/8" hex impact socket. A bit pricey at $36, but made to take a beating of an impact gun. I've had a lot of keys break. Its a 3/4" drive, but that's what they make adapters for.

awesome.. didnt know that

just another tip... i went to my local metal supplier and they gave me a scrap piece of 7/8" hex bar stock that fits great. i just heated it up 3/4 of the way down and bent it 90*. sure that was luck but you might check with your supplier first and to give another route for some

Also use a piece of bar stock, only I did not bend it, I left it straight, and I use a socket on the end. This way it still fits in my tool box without using up too much room.
Most home made allen wrenches that are bent, require a pipe, ot cheater bar any way, so I can use a breaker bar for the tough times.
After the axle has been apart, they come apart pretty easy.

Make sure you get those crazy tight when you go back together!!!!!

I don't think I'd trust any of my sockets and breaker bars to that level of torque, but then again I only have 1/2" stuff

I do have a nice cheater pipe though
